Professor Elin Gray is the Melanoma Discovery Chair at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, Deputy Director of the Centre for Precision Health, and Head of the Translational Melanoma Research Group at Edith Cowan University.
Professor Gray specialises in cancer biology, cancer genetics, and the development of blood-based biomarkers, commonly known as liquid biopsies. Her research bridges cutting-edge laboratory science with real-world clinical application, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for people with melanoma.
Driven by a commitment to personalised medicine, she leads multidisciplinary efforts to harness emerging technologies for early detection, treatment monitoring, and therapeutic decision-making. Her goal is to develop and clinically validate innovative, minimally invasive tests that enable clinicians to tailor treatments more precisely, ultimately improving survival rates and quality of life for melanoma patients.
